D.W.'s Deer Friend is the first half of the 11th episode of Season 2. Together with Buster Hits the Books, it first aired on January 19, 1998.

Synopsis

D.W. chooses where do go with her family, and after watching wildlife educational television, she decides to go camping. She is upset about not seeing any wild animals, but than she sees a deer, but scares it away because she is too close. She has daydreams about the deer and calls it "Walter." She sees it once more, and attempts to feed it cereal, but her mom stops her. Than before the trip ends, she sees it and it lets her get a bit close to it, as she was respecting the deer's home.

Trivia/Goofs

  • When D.W.'s mother responded "Everybody," her mouth didn't move while the scene changes to flashback.
  • This was the second time, In surprise, D.W. saw something dead before she cries a bit. It was one fish. The first was her Parakeet, Spanky in So Long, Spanky.
