Chicken pox[1] is a contagious illness recognizable for red spots on a person's skin. David Read assured D.W. Read that chicken pox was a normal childhood illness and does not come from chickens. Oatmeal in the bathtub can soothe the itching. Scratching the itch can cause an infection.[2]
