Carl is a third grader with Asperger's syndrome, a particular autism spectrum disorder, characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction, alongside restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. George meets him in the episode "George and the Missing Puzzle Piece."

Description

Carl is a rabbit, like his mother. He has short, swurvy orange hair and wears a light blue T-shirt, gray jeans, dark blue and white sneakers and glasses.

Personality and Skills

Carl has Asperger's syndrome, a form of Autism spectrum disorder which makes him have problems with social interaction when being around people. He loves trains and can point out every detail of them with incredible amounts of accuracy. As well as trains, he likes to assemble jigsaws (though mainly ones featuring trains) and can draw rather good lions all by hand. He can get somewhat anxious around situations that are unfamiliar to him, but can often find a rational solution to a problem whenever it presents itself.

Voice Actors

In the credits for "Buster Spaces Out," it was revealed that Carl was voiced by Dylan Hoerner in that episode. It is unconfirmed as to whether or not Hoerner voiced Carl in his first appearance.

• His favorite color is blue, but he dislikes the color brown.
• He is often mistaken to be the character chosen from the Arthur new character contest due to his special needs, but this title actually belongs to Lydia Gordon, created by Connor Gordon of Savage, Minnesota, from the season 14 episode "The Wheel Deal".
• He likes apple juice in a box, not a bottle.
• He likes trains. He has a book filled with detailed drawings he drew himself.
  • However, his interests have changed to rockets and spaceships by the time of "Buster Spaces Out", though the interests of one with Asperger's changes on a regular basis.
• He is afraid of George's dummy, Wally.
