Arthur Writes a Story is the twenty-second book in the Arthur Adventure series. It was written and illustrated by Marc Brown and published by Little, Brown and Company on September 1, 1996. It became adapted into the first half of Episode 12 of Season 1 with the same title. Although the episode is an adaptation of this book, this book was in production at the same time as the cartoon show, and was published the day before the cartoon's first episode: Arthur's Eyes and Francine's Bad Hair Day aired on television for the first time.
