This article documents a number of articles that contain specific material regarding the policies of Arthur Wiki. Here you will find a basic summary of each policy.

Blocking policy

:Main article: Arthur Wiki:Blocking policy Blocking is a feature that enables administrators to block a contributor; registered or anonymous; from editing for a certain period of time. Blocking is to prevent an action that is against the policies, and it is not a punishment for users who violate a policy. Blocks should be given for a short time at first, gradually increasing each time the contributor is blocked.

Blog post policy

:Main article: Arthur Wiki:Blog post policy Blogs are a feature that allows someone to share Arthur or Arthur Wiki related opinions or views. Blogs that are made to gather opinions or start conversations generally should not be permitted, however, if the writer shares a viable amount of opinion of his/her own, than the blog is considered acceptable. Blogs containing inappropriate material, or any that violate these policies will be deleted promptly.

Rules and Guidelines

1. Editing/Uploading Pages-When editing or uploading pages please use proper grammar, sentences, and cite good sources. There should be no excuse for not doing any of that and please use spellcheck in case you do make mistakes spelling words. Read over them carefully to make sure the sentence or paragraph makes sense. Everyone makes mistakes on pages with misspelled words, incorrect or no punctuations, and not capitalizing words. Please be professional and correct it for them. All pages have to be in English and add redirects if pages have a commonly used name.

2. Fanons-Fanons or fan-fics whatever you like to call them are one of the fun activities done around this wiki. In order for users to be able to be involved at least twenty positive edits must be done before a user can participate in these activities.

3. Behavior-Treat all users like you would with everyone at school or your job with respect and privacy. Be honest to each other as well. If a user secretly tells you something and doesn't want you to reveal it, don't reveal it. Severe curse words are not allowed at all on the wiki even if they are censored and this includes racial slurs. Making threats against any user or extortion will not be allowed at any time on the wiki. Also the administrators of the wiki cannot really help you if you have a personal problems at home, school, other wikis, or jobs. They can give you advice and that is all they can do. Administrators can't keep being the parents to other users on the site either. Don't bring up personal issues you've had on another wiki as the administrators can only do so much. They can only handle problems on this wiki not other wikis.

4. User Rights-Users with rights will not abuse their power at any time. They will also not bend the rules for anyone regardless of who it is they are doing it for. On the chat a user can talk about whatever they want on the chat as long as the conversation is friendly and does not involve spamming. They can also write in any language they want as well as we will not discriminate against any language user/users will post.

5. If There Is Trouble On The Wiki-Send a message to the message wall to any of the following administrators: DJ MC CJ, 5000 Explosions and a Supernova, and Agency. The sooner the message is sent the sooner the administrators can neutralize the problem before it gets any worse, so time is important no matter what. If the message is something that another user on the wiki can take the wrong way, please use the message wall to set up a time when you and the administrator can chat privately on chat, so you do not offend anyone.

Chat Behavior/Punishment Policy

The Arthur Wiki chat rules as to what is and isn’t acceptable is mainly based on common sense of what you should and shouldn’t do on the internet. However it is still necessary to record a written list of what is not considered acceptable to do and talk about on chat. Doing any of the following actions may result in a kick or block from an administrator or chat moderator, at their discretion:

1. Major foul language. If you have a question as to what words you should and shouldn’t be saying on chat, use this basic rule: If it wouldn’t be acceptable to say around a child, don’t say it at all.

2. Links to any seriously inappropriate videos, pictures, or content. If you do feel there are some minor inappropriate elements in something you are linking to, please put a user discretion warning.

3. Talking badly about a user behind their back. It is OK to discuss the reliability of an edit, or report rule-breaking activity, but talking badly about them for no reason is, in addition to being unproductive, no help to anyone on the wiki. It just gives others a worse opinion about the user. If it doesn’t danger the wiki, keep those thoughts to yourself.

4. Making hateful remarks toward any group, race, person, or religion. It is OK to disagree, and even argue in some cases, but it is not OK to say mean or offensive phrases. Before you say anything, think about how you would feel in the other person’s shoes.

5. Revealing personal information about a user. A user’s actual name, age, location, and other information may only be released by that user.

6. Continually bugging a user to reveal personal information. While it is OK to ask them something about themselves, it is not productive to continually bug them. If they say no, that should be the end of it.

On Arthur Wiki chat, we have had a few instances in the past where innocent actions were accused of being offensive. To clarify, these instances are just some of the actions NOT WORTHY OF KICKING OR BANNING:

1. A user continuing to talk about a perfectly fine topic, despite a chat mod’s warning. Only in times of an offensive conversation may the user be punished.

2. Using non-inappropriate phrases that could be offensive in occasional instances, but are not in the instance at hand. These can include terms such as “get lost,” where the term could be offensive to a user in occasional cases, but is most likely being used as a non-literal line.

3. Staying on chat for an extensive period of time without posting anything. All users have the right to be logged on chat for as long as they choose. These rules are still intact in private messages, however the chat administration team has no control over what happens in private messages. If you are being offended or harassed by another user in a private message, it is your responsibility to block private messages from this user by clicking on their name on the chat sidebar while you are in a private message with them, and clicking the “Block Private Messages” button.

Of course these are only some of the cases where you can and can’t be punished. Please note that each and every one of these instances vary from case to case, at the discretion of the chat administration. Current chat administration is DJ MC CJ, 5000 Explosions and a Supernova, Agency, and Anythingspossibleforapossible. If one of these users punished you in a way that you do not believe was worth a punishment, please contact someone else from the chat administration team and explain your case. The rest of the team will then determine whether or not the instance was punishment-worthy.

Consequences/Punishment

When users have done something wrong more then once they are subjected to a warning and then after that a block. Depending on the violation some may not even get warnings. Users keep in mind that the reason these consequences are tough is because kids, parents, and families do frequent this site on top of our contributors and we will not displease them in any way. So please take your time to read these rules.

  • Undoing Edits/Spam/Vandalism-The act of removing sentences, pages, pictures, or anything else that is part of a page without no reason at all. Adding profanity or anything disgusting in nature is also considered spam. Deleting a useful page will also be considered as Vandalism and any thing that is considered vandalism will result in an automatic block without warnings anywhere from one month to a full year depending on how many pages are vandalized.
  • Unacceptable Language/Conduct-Using words that are severe in nature like S***, F***, C***, W****, S***, N**** and any other word that degrades people of all sex, race, and religion will result in a permanent block. Sexism will also result in the same thing too. Disrespecting/harassing users by humiliating them on the message wall, chat, or blog will result in a ban by the administrators. The act of spreading false information about a user throughout the wiki and chat. This will result in a warning. The second time will result in a block. Also users that use profanity in Spanish or in any other language will also be blocked.
  • Privacy Violation-Violating any user's privacy including revealing personal information about them that is not available to the wiki. Harassing or soliciting private information about any user will also result in a permanent block because no user has the rights to violate any user's privacy regardless of what they have done in the past. This also includes other wikis too. Users that violate the privacy of others will also be reported to the FBI or any law enforcement agency that handles privacy violation laws and regulations at the user's own request.
  • Unacceptable Pictures-Pictures that have nothing do with the wiki, your profile, or are deemed scary in nature will be subjected to immediate deletion by administrators. No pornographic or humiliating pictures of a person will be accepted on the wiki or this will result in a immediate warning/block.
  • Abusing Power-Users with rights who abuse their power will be given a warning and will be demoted for up to a week depending on what they did. If it happens again the user will be blocked and have their rights revoked and will not be able to reapply for rights for up to a year depending on what the user did.
  • Sockpuppets-Anyone that has been blocked who makes another account or makes multiple accounts will not only be blocked, but will have their blocks extended longer then what they already had. The only exception to that will be if the user has a reason he/she has a second account. Sockpuppets will also be reported to Wikia Staff.
  • Flame Wars-Anyone that starts a flame war on the wiki, blog, comments, or chat will be blocked along with everyone that was involved in the flame war regardless of who "started it". Flame wars that occur on other wikis will also be reported to the administrators of those wikis as well.
