Arthur Tricks the Tooth Fairy is a book by Marc Brown. Although the title says Arthur, it was really D.W. who tried to trick the Tooth Fairy.
Summary
Jealous that Arthur got a quarter from the Tooth Fairy for losing a tooth, D.W. tries several times to trick her that she had lost a tooth. In the end, Arthur pretends to be the Tooth Fairy and gives her a quarter.

- Unlike the episode is was based on, D.W. wanted to trick the Tooth Fairy to get even with Arthur, not to get money to buy something.
