"Kids are from Earth, Parents are from Pluto" is the first half of the 2nd episode of Season 5 of the animated children's series Arthur. It originally aired on September 11th, 2000. It was written by Peter K. Hirsch, and the storyboard was done by Mario Cabrera, Patricia Atchison, and Marie Blanchard.
Summary
Lakewood Elementary is having a school open house and Arthur and his friends are embarrassed by how their parents will act judging from the previous year's open house. This prompts Sue Ellen to ask her parents to act more "normal".

- Mr. Frensky impulsively answering "42" could possibly be a reference to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams, where the Answer to Life is said to be 42.
