Adil Akyuz is Arthur's 8 year old Turkish Pen pal and an anthropomorphic bear who was introduced in the episode "Dear Adil." Arthur and Adil have a lot in common. Adil's best friend is named Andhur (as seen in the picture) who relates to Buster. They both think that they have annoying sisters, and Adil's little sister likes the Turkish version of Mary Moo Cow, like D.W. He also lives in an apartment, and has a computer, like Arthur. His father owns a grocery store right below his apartment. Adil works for his father at the store on weekends. Adil's little sister sent D.W. a turkish Mary Moo Cow CD and D.W. was listening to it with headphones at the end of the episode "Dear Adil." Unlike Arthur, who is an anthropomorphic aardvark, Adil is an anthropomorphic bear, as is the rest of his family. In the episode "Is That Kosher?" , Adil makes a cameo appearance, but he has no spoken dialogue, and in that same episode, it is revealed that he and his family are all Muslims, as they observe the holiday of Ramadan.
