Button Island is a small island in Bear Lake. D.W. asks Grandma Thora to take here there so that she can "live with the monkeys". However, Grandma convinces D.W. halfway there that Baby Kate needs a big sister and D.W. decides not to live there. She called it the "Nearest Island".
In D.W., Go to Your Room!, she again threatens, to herself at least, to go live on Button Island and starts packing her stuff, but she is interrupted when Mrs. Read asks her to look after Baby Kate, leading her to complain that she's being asked to "baby-sit the enemy."
