Jack and the Beanstalk is a widely popular English folk tale that has had many adaptations throughout the years.

Season 1[edit]

In "Arthur and the Real Mr. Ratburn," Mr. Ratburn is seen as a performer in a puppet variation of the story. Mr. Ratburn performs Jack and an unnamed performer performs a talking radio.

Season 5[edit]

In "Just Desserts," this story is strongly referenced as part of a large fairy tale crossover in Arthur's dream. In the dream, he has magic beans that he got in a trade with D.W.'s Mary Moo Cow doll. In disgust, D.W. throws the beans away, which land in a nearby hole and begin to grow into a giant beanstalk. Arthur climbs the beanstalk to find a new toy for D.W., and finds a goose for her, which belongs to a giant made of every food Arthur has ever eaten. Arthur takes the goose back down as the giant climbs down after them, until Buster, as a woodcutter, cuts down the beanstalk.

Season 10[edit]

In the intro to "Fern & Persimmony Glitchet," Fern demonstrates how the story may not be as popular if the giant was generous, with Arthur playing Jack and Binky playing the giant.
