Hello guys! Welcome to the first part of my Arthur series review. Starting with Season 1. I personally really like this season. While I do consider the first 5 seasons the best, this would be below Seasons 2 and 3, and above seasons 4 and 5. My rating scales are Vomitrocious, Meh, and Good. This is by far the longest season of Arthur, so prepare yourselves. At the end I'll tally the amount of Vomitrocious/Meh?Good episodes to rate the season, and use other trivia. Well, let's begin.
1a - Arthur's Eyes
Arthur tells D.W. the story of how he got his glasses, and the teasing he received.
This episode introduced me to Arthur, and uses some similar source material from the 1979 book. Arthur first gets glasses and recieves teasing for it, and never really liked it that much. In fact in there are quite a few of Season 1 episodes with Arthur getting teased. Overall this a pretty Good Episode.
1b - Francine's Bad Hair Day
Muffy makes sure Francine looks her best for School Picture Day.
Well first, Muffy is too demanding in this episode, and second, why couldn't Francine play kickball with her normal clothes and change to her dress in the girls' bathroom. Buster and Brain make some jokes about Francine's hair, but why do I feel like she deserved it after the previous episode. Overall this is a Good Episode.
2a - Arthur and the Real Mr. Ratburn
Arthur and the gang are shocked when they find out thier third grade teacher will be the infamous Mr. Ratburn.
The misconceptions the characters imagine are quite funny, and is totally relatable. And we find out Mr. Ratburn is actually a good teacher. And this is definitely a Good Episode.
2b - Arthur's Spelling Trubble
Arthur practices for the Spelling Bee against Prunella (last years winner), and Brain (the smartest kid in his class).
The AARDVARK Rap is pretty fun to listen to and I like how supportvie Mr. Ratburn is considering how the gang felt upon first hearing he was their teacher. This episode is a Good Episode.
3a - D.W. All Wet
D.W. won't swim at the beach, because she is afraid of octopuses(octopi).
Yeah, I wonder how D.W. would fell if she met Squidward. Anyway, I felt the plot was pretty dry, but had enough funny scenes such as the answer to where sea mammals go to the bathroom and Arthur's prank on D.W., to make me consider this a Good Episode.
3b - Buster's Dino Dilemma
On a field trip, Buster takes home a fossil, though it is against the rules.
This is the first of many episodes to adress stealing. It becomes pretty bland later on, but I like how it was used here. I especially like Buster's character in this episode. He is often depicted as dumb, but on the contrary he's pretty good with dinosuars and fossils. This was pretty funny. This is a Good Episode
4a - D.W.'s Imaginary Friend
Arthur and Buster don't want D.W. to bring her imaginary friend, Nadine, with them to Wonderworld.
This episode didn't make too much sense, with Nadine being there the whole time despite what Arthur siad...Anyway I think the barf-bags was a pretty funny gag. Arthur was a jerk and D.W. was pretty nice as to letting him have orange tickets. But this is a meh Episode.
4b - Arthur's Lost Library Book
Arthur loses the new Scare-Your-Pants-Off book: The Mysterious Hand
Yeah, this episode reminds me of when I first lost a library book. Anyway; The episode is actually very detailed and I like how Binky took the book and read even though he's known for not liking books. Arthur was pretty paranoid in this episode. The nightmare sequence is pretty good, and D.W.'s mystery hand jokes for the time cards are funny to, especially the end. This is a Good Episode.
5a - Arthur's Pet Business
Arthur starts a pet business to prove to his parents that he is responsible enough to have a dog
Another relatable episode. yeah, we have some gags here and there, and the end of the episode is really good. Not much to say about this episode, but it's definitely a Good Episode.
5b - D.W. the Copycat
D.W. becomes like Arthur to let him play with her.
After rewatching this episode, I'm pleased to say I actually enjoyed it. All D.W. wanted was to have someone to play with but Arthur needs his personal space, and it balanced equally. This is a Good Episode
6a - Locked in the Library
Arthur and Francine get locked inside the library while working on a project.
Whenever Arthur called Francine a marshmallow, it doesn't amount to her calling him four eyes and calling him a baby for not losing his milk tooth. Geting Locked in the Library is a little far-fetched, but I liked how they attempted to get out of the library through the window. And at the end why is Binky vigorously clapping at Muffy's performance if she was working with Buster. Anyway Arthur and Francine made up. This is a Good Episode.
6b - Arthur Accused!
Buster tries to prove Arthur didn't steal quarters.
To start things off, how did Mrs. MacGrady not see the bag of quarters, and how'd she get'm in the mix, blend thing, with the chocolate. I'm glad buster finally cleared Arthur's name and he got to go on the picnic. This is a Good Episode.
7a - Arthur Goes to Camp
Arthur and friends go to Camp Meadowcroak
The boys vs. girls gag is a pretty overused one. This episode is cliche, I mean, at first the boys and girls are against each other then the team up to win a contest against some oler kids. And they win. the plot is predictable, but still has some funny moments to make this a Good Episode.
7b - Buster Makes the Grade
Arthur, Francine, and Muffy help Buster to pass the next test.
Well, another relatable episode. I don't know why Arthur's class gets treated like 5th graders, but all that hard work makes Mr. Ratburn a better teacher than the other third grade teachers, who do pretty much nothing in terms of academics. I like how Buster pushes him self to study, and finally gets a passing grade, so it just shows he's not dumb, he's just a little too relaxed. This is definitely a Good Episode.
8a - Arthur's New Puppy
Arthur must train his new puppy, Pal, so he won't move out of the house.
Yeah, I like how Arthur finally got what he wanted, a new puppy, but it gets out of control. I don't have much to say about this episode, but I really like it. Good Episode.
8b - Arthur Bounces Back
Arthur tries to earn money to buy Moon Boots.
Yes, another relatable episode. You see a trailer for a new toy, you get hyped, beg your parents to buy, finally buy it, gets used the first two days, and after a week it's not a big deal anymore. Anyway the different ways Arthur tries to earn money is cool, but I don't understand what the necklace was doing in the garage. How'd it get there? Well, after rewatching it, I'll say it's a Good Episode.
9a - Arthur Babysits
Arthur thinks babysitting is the easiest job in the world, so D.W. volunteers him to babysit her friends, the Tibble Twins.
Arthur actually holds up pretty well, while he's babysitting. It is a Good Episode
9b - Arthur's Cousin Catastrophe
AT a family reunion party, Arthur tries to avoid his cousin Mo because of what she did to him on previous family reunions.
This episode was pretty funny, and Mo is...kinda hot. But anyway this is a Good Episode.
10a - Arthur's Birthday
Arthur and Muffy have the same birthday date, but neither can change the date.
This was before sharing a birthday was a big deal (Teen Titans Go!), Arthur is incredibly nice for sharing his birthday with Muffy, despite...well, she's Muffy. This is a Good Episode.
10b - Francine Frensky, Superstar
Franince finally gets a lead role in a school play, but starts to boss her friends around.
Sure Francine neede a break from her previous roles, but she's very mean to the others, she wasn't wrong, just mean. But the others shouldn't have pranked Francine like that. two wrongs don't make a right. I like the plot but this is a meh Episode.
11a - Arthur's Baby
Arthur thinks his baby sister, Kate, hates him.
Arthur is really paranoid in this episode, and the others tease him for what reason? Anyway this is a meh Episode
11b - D.W.'s Baby
D.W. gets jealous when her new baby sister Kate, gets more attention than she does.
D.W. was a jerk in this episode, she thinks the universe revolves around her. This is a Vomitrocious Episode
12a - Arthur Writes a Story
Arthur needs to write a story for homework, but fears the story of how he got his puppy, Pal will be too boring.
I remember reading the book version of this. Arthur is really paranoid in this episode, like, why would he think the story on how he got his dog is boring. I actually really like this episode. Good Episode.
12b - Arthur's Lost Dog
Pal runs off to get Kate a balloon, but Arthur thinks he's running away.
Pal doesn't get the appreciation he deserves. There's some funny moments. Not much else o say but this a Good Episode.
13a -So Long, Spanky
D.W.'s pet bird, Spanky, dies, and she mourns him, later befriending a toad.
This is a sad episode, and really makes me feel bad for D.W., when her pet bird dies, Arthur was also pretty supportive in this episode, taking her to the pet store, and all. This is a very Good Episode.
13b - Buster's New Friend
Arthur and the gang realize that Buster doesn't have time for them.
Yeah I'm gonna say it, Buster did nothing wrong to anyone, but they're mad at him, just because he's spending more time with his friend Mike, who is actually older than him. Okay, sure he made Arthur do all the work on the project but this is a Vomitrocious Episode
14a - Arthur the Wrecker
Arthur and Buster accidentlaly break the computer even if Arthur's mom told them they shouldn't.
Arthur the Wrecker is a wierd name for an episode, but I actually like this episode. Good Episode.
14b - Arthur and the True Francine
Francine tells Muffy about when she first came in second grade, and got her into trouble by lying.
The title of this episode really doesn't make sense with the plot. I was originally going to rank this a Meh, but after rewatching it, it's okay. Good Episode
15a - Arthur's Family Vacation
Arthur doesn't want to go to the beach for vacation
This episode is pretty funny, It's an overall Good Episode.
15b - Grandpa Dave's Old Country Farm
Arthur and D.W. visit Grandpa Dave, who doesn't want anyone to help him on his old, rundown, farm.
We have a couple of jokes, and the moral is okay too. I actually liked watching this again, so it is a Good Episode
