Hi, everyone! I'm Arthur Read fan, and (as you probably guessed,) I'm a big fan of Arthur! Thanks for viewing my profile, and I'll be sharing ideas, giving comments, and most importantly, helping out on the Arthur Wiki! You'll be seeing a lot from me in the future. Have a wonderful kind of day!

A little trivia about me

  • I have High-Functioning Autism (NOT Asperger's Syndrom, just High-Functioning Autism).
  • In the 2019 Arthur Marathon, I voted for "Arthur's Baby / D.W.'s Baby", "April 9th", and "Fountain Abbey / Arthur Calls It", which ranked number 1, number 10, and number 15, respectively.

My top 3 favourite characters

Arthur Read is by far my all-time favourite Arthur character (hence my username, Arthur Read fan), even though he has some flaws and obviously isn't perfect (as is everybody). He's also my favourite male character on Arthur.

Some reasons why are because:

1. He is the main character, first of all.

2. He is usually kind and friendly to just about everyone (even DW deep down inside; one big example of this is in the episode "Operation: DW!").

3. He also has a really cool made-up superhero identity, Supernova (from "The Secret Origin of Supernova"; I'd really like to see Supernova again in the future).

Ladonna Compson is my (very close) second-favourite character on Arthur, and she's also my favourite female character on Arthur, even though she wasn't in Elwood City for very long (since she and her family moved to Oregon in "When Duty Calls").

Here are some reasons why Ladonna is one of my all-time favourite characters:

1. She is very nice, friendly, and positive.

2. She also has a really nice voice, especially when she sings (like the time she sings 'Alice Blue Gown' in "Messy Dress Mess").

3.

Hmm... Who is my third-favourite character on Arthur? Is it Alan "Brain" Powers, or is it Buster Baxter? The answer is yes! Brain and Buster are BOTH my third-favourite characters, although sometimes I like Brain more than Buster, and vice versa, depending on the episode.

Here are some of the reasons why I like Brain and Buster:

1. I like that Brain is very smart and intelligent, and I also like Brain's sarcasm around Seasons 13 and 14, especially in the episode "Cents-Less".

2. Buster is very funny, and I like how his fantasies can be hilarious, such as his 'South Park' parody idea in "The Contest".

3. Though their personalities are different, Brain and Buster are both friends, as seen in e episodes "Brain's Biggest Blunder" and "On the Buster Scale".

My favourite episodes from each season of Arthur

(Please note that my opinions may be subject to change.)

Season 1: Arthur's New Year's Eve. I really like this episode. It's humourous, it has better animation compared to most of Season 1, it has a really nice ending, and I also think that it's a really satisfying conclusion to Arthur's first season. I look forward to seeing it again around New Year's Eve.

Season 2: Finders Key-pers. In my opinion, this episode is very funny! Probably more funny than educational, but it succeeds.

  • Buster Baxter, Cat Saver. In my opinion, it's funny, has a good plotline, and even has some meta references. My favourite part of the episode is when Buster says to the viewers (in his imaginary 'Cat Saver' TV show): "Remember kids: Hitting and punching people is wrong. But this is no person; IT'S A HAM!"

Season 3: Arthur's Almost Live Not Real Music Festival. It really is a shame that this episode lost to a few other not-as-good episodes in the 2019 Arthur Marathon that took place on PBS Kids from May 11-12, 2019, because this episode is one of the best in my opinion, and it features some really cool songs! My favourite songs featured in this episode are 'Jekell and Hyde' and 'Library Card'. And by the way, who's Dewey?

  • The Ballad of Buster Baxter. Art Garfunkel makes a good singing moose, and it's also funny how he makes appearances throughout the episode, sometimes in the most unexpected of places, like at the Kresblain Club Meeting (Speaking of Kresblain, it's kind of a shame that he never reappears after this episode. But either way, Buster definitely does NOT like Kresblain)! My favourite part of is when Art Garfunkel sings, "Life can be tough as nails when your friends think you're a guy who likes to eat snails!"

Season 4: The Contest. I really like this one. I also like how many series they parody, and the different animation styles that go with them. Buster's story (the parody of 'South Park') is my favourite. Also, 'Andy and Company' (which is later renamed 'Alfred' in Season 16's "Baby Steps") is hilarious.

Season 5: You Are Arthur. This is a great episode overall. We get to see from Arthur's perspective for most of the episode. Adding to this episode's credit, there's a lot of funny moments, and there's even a couple of fourth-wall breaks.

  • Pet Peeved. Sometimes, I wonder if Binky's right about Francine treating Nemo poorly (it would explain why Nemo acts so mean in some other episodes).

Season 6: Rhyme for Your Life. This may very well be the best episode of Arthur. It's really funny, especially at the ending!

  • Best of the Nest. Another great episode. It's really funny how Answer C in the game is always 'Do the hokey-pokey'!

Season 7: Waiting to Go. For me, it's a really close call to decide which episode from Season 7 was the best. Ultimately, it was this one. In my opinion, it's got some very funny moments.

  • The World of Tomorrow. Like Waiting to Go, this is another outstanding episode. I like Binky's dream involving him and 'Thruster' (Buster), and Binky's dread about going somewhere he doesn't want to go is very relatable to me.

Season 8: Desk Wars. This episode has a lot of tension that gradually builds up over time (just like the heat in Mr. Ratburn's classroom), and it results in a very comedic montage of chain reactions. I also like how everyone ends up working together to clean up the mess they made in the end.

  • Desperately Seeking Stanley. This is a really underrated episode. Poor Arthur. He feels really bad for having given his teddy bear, Stanley, to Vicita (who calls the latter 'Chico'). When he finds out that Vicita traded Stanley/Chico to the Tibbles, Arthur gets really worried. However, it turns out that Grandma Tibble fixed Stanley up, and he looks better than he ever has. This episode has a really nice ending, but I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it!

Season 9: Breezy Listening Blues. The part I really like best about this episode is when Brain has his fantasy about the 'Swelwood City Mall' while listening to 'Breezy Listening'. Bookazine, anyone?

Season 10: Happy Anniversary. Season 10 kicked off with an excellent episode. It's one of my all-time favourites. There are a lot of "hidden 10s" in the episode; I've found every single one. The episode has a very nice ending, and it's also funny how DW correctly guesses that Bionic Bunny and Dark Bunny are actually brothers, despite having not seen it.

  • Operation: DW!. Operation: DW! is a hidden gem in Season 10 (partially because PBS Kids hardly ever airs this episode for whatever reason). Arthur is really

nice to DW in this episode (which I wish we could see more of), and he shows her compassion.

Season 11: The Making of Arthur. Another really funny episode of Arthur that sort of reminds me of "The Contest" (my favourite Arthur episode from Season 4). Each video is pretty funny (especially George's 'This Old Dollhouse'), and the episode has lots of meta references. I like the ending of The Making of Arthur, which hilariously creates a paradox.

Season 12: On This Spot. Some people may think that this episode is boring, but I think it's great. We get to learn a lot about early Elwood City history in this one, and Buster's 'Derek Montaigne Tour' is pretty funny (He even mentions Matt Damon and Mister Rogers).

Season 13: The Secret Origin of Supernova. One of my all-time favourites. The superhero references abound in this episode, and so does the humour. I think it's pretty funny how Dark Bunny is weak without his 'DB Might-a-max Energy Drink', and Arthur's superhero idea, Supernova, is awesome. I want to see Supernova again, but I sadly don't think they will. But you never know...

Season 14: Around the World in 11 Minutes. The intro is funny, especially with how Arthur smiles at the viewers like that. The episode itself is also great, with how Kate, Pal, and company use their imaginations to travel around the world. A great episode overall.

Season 15: Fifteen. This is one of the best full-length episodes of Arthur in my opinion. Everyone plays a role in a race against the clock, taking humour with it along the way. From the radio show, to the Red Claw, to Arthur's Michaelangelo report, I think it's a must-watch for any Arthur fan.

  • Through the Looking Glasses. Well, I always say, "This is another great episode of Season 15". (Really, I do think that.) There are times when being out-of-character isn't funny (like in "So Funny I Forgot to Laugh"), but there are times when it CAN be funny, like in this episode.

Season 16: On the Buster Scale. This episode has a great lesson, that not everyone is going to agree with your opinions, and it's also really funny how Buster and Brain's opinions always seem to change Francine, Muffy, and Binky's opinions. It's a really good episode, and it's one I think about a lot in life. On the Buster Scale (or rather, the Arthur Read fan Scale), a 10+!

  • Based on a True Story. This episode not only debuts the Compson family, but it also debuts my second-favourite character on the show: Ladonna!

Season 17: Brain Freeze. I wish Yumbobo was a real ice cream chain, because I would totally go there, although I can understand how Brain feels about the place, fearing that his family's ice cream shop may go out of business because of Yumbobo. It's a well-structured, nicely done, and really funny episode, even if Puk-Puk (Yumbobo's Penguin mascot) is anatomically incorrect.

  • Molina's Mulligan. This is an episode that very few people seem to talk about. Why? (Rhetorical question.) It's got a good storyline, and it's also about golfing, which I like.

Season 18: Staycation. Overrated? Perhaps. Stupid? Kind of. Funny? Totally. For some reason, I just really like this episode. The only thing I don't like about it is the part when the lights flicker in the house, as I think it could possibly give some people epilepsy. But other than that, it's a really funny episode.

  • Messy Dress Mess. This episode is the epitome of underrated Arthur episodes. It's one of my absolute favourites, and it features Ladonna (my second-favourite

character on the show) at her best.

Season 19: The Last Day. In no other time in Arthur have they ever gotten this close to a series finale, and they may never again. It has some good songs, a great storyline, and it would've been the perfect series finale.

  • Arthur's Toy Trouble. It has a good plotline, a great lesson, and is pretty funny. It even has a meta reference in the intro.

Season 20: Buster's Second Chance. This episode was actually not that bad. It's pretty funny, especially the at the parts with younger Buster.

Season 21: The Master Builders. By far, this is one of the most interesting episodes of Arthur, especially with the 3D printers. That part was pretty cool. What's also cool about this episode is that we get to see Fritz again. A pretty underrated episode in my opinion.

Season 22: When Rivals Came to Roost. This episode was a nice throwback to "April 9th" (another one of my favourites, by the way). Though the plot is predictable, with how the two schools (Lakewood and Mighty Mountain) end up working together in the end, I think it was okay.
