"The Perfect Brother" is the second half of the twenty-first episode in the first season of Arthur. It was later adapted into the book Arthur and the Perfect Brother.

Summary

Arthur invites the Brain to spend a weekend, then regrets it.

Plot

Arthur is excited because the Brain is coming over to spend the weekend, since Brain's parents are going out of town. Arthur creates a list of activities for the two of them to do, but Brain immediately makes himself welcome, opting to help Arthur's parents out with washing dishes and completing the weekend's homework.

Later on, Brain grows to being a hit with the rest of the Reads, but Arthur feels jealous to the point where he thinks Brain is better at him at everything. After explaining the situation to Buster, Arthur now feels that his family likes Brain better.

Soon, Brain's parents return home, and Arthur helps Brain carry his belongings back to his house. When they get to Brain's room, Arthur sees that it is a mess and realizes that Brain isn't perfect and that he was only being polite at Arthur's house since he was a guest. Arthur returns the favor when helping Brain's dad carry in groceries, and the two kids get into a popcorn fight.
