According to Ladonna, her brother [[Gussie Compson|Gussie]] worked at the sanctuary one summer, and was so bored that he brought the family's television set. Penny liked the soap opera so much that Gussie had to let the sanctuary keep the television set. Eventually, Penny had babies who also like soap operas.
