because the rocks on Mars have iron in them. When Iron rust, they turn red. It has two moons called Deimos and Phobos. They are believe to be asteroids that were captured Mars orbit millions of years ago. Mars was the setting of the movie [[Attack of the Sleepless Martian Dinosaurs]].
