Editing List of Dinosaur References in Arthur

There is a lot of reference to historical figures and celebrities in the ''[[Arthur (TV series)|Arthur]]'' series. One of the other things that takes part of the series is dinosaurs. These prehistoric creatures have appeared in "[[Buster's Dino Dilemma]]" to the more recent season, in "[[Follow the Bouncing Ball]]". Here are the dinosaurs that appeared in the series:

==Tyrannosaurus rex==

The largest predator in Western North America was the Tyrannosaururs rex. A meat eater, it hunted alone or in packs, or scavenged for injured or dead prey. Tyrannosaurus rex could run up to twenty-five miles per hour, and the female T. rex was the largest of the species. As the T. rex grew it would lose its teeth, which were replaced constantly. Additionally, males of the species became brightly colored as they matured, while females grew dull in color. Adult tyrannosaurs were much slower than babies. The Tyrannosaurus appears in "[[Buster's Dino Dilemma]]", "[[Sue Ellen and the Brainasaurus]]", and "[[On This Spot]]".

==Albertonykus==

Albertonykus is a very small dinosaur compared to those of its time. They are members of the alvarezsauridae family, which are known for their stubby forelimbs bearing only one finger. They may have eaten insects, using the claw on its single finger to dig into termite mounds. They were found all over North America. The Albertonykus is covered in feathers. Albertonykus is the unknown dinosaur that appeared in "[[On This Spot]]".

==Apatosaurus==

Apatosaurus is a large herbivore. It lived in North America during the late Jurassic Period. It moved large in huge groups that move from food source to food source. Apatosaurus lays its eggs in large cluches in spots they build nests. There is not much we know except that they eat rocks to digest the plants. And their off spring is left alone to defend there self after birth. So they probably hide under low brush until they are big enough to leave the forest. After that they continue to eat until they reach a size 23 meters and weigh to 23 metric tones. Apatosaurus appeared in "[[Arthur's Faraway Friend]]", "[[The Ballad of Buster Baxter]]", and "[[Follow the Bouncing Ball]]".

==Triceratops==
A large herbivore. They lived in large groups where there is an Alpha Male and Alpha Female. There would usually other females in the group including immature males. There main defense is create an wall of horns as they circle around their youth in the middle. The other purpose for the horns on the Triceratops is to make its appearance different from other species. The ultimate reason is to impress female triceratops like the feathers on male peacocks uses there tail feathers to impress the female peacock. The males are brightly colored while the female are dull in color. A baby triceratops has a flat crest and small horns, while a teenage have a boney crest and horns sticking up than forward, young adult Triceratops have a spiky crest and long straight horns and fully grown Triceratops have no bone crest and larger horns. A mother Triceratops takes care of there young until they are teenagers. The Triceratops lived in the Western Part of North America. Triceratops was mentioned in "[[Buster's Dino Dilemma]]".

==Corythosaurus==
A large hadrosaur that had lived in western North America. They are a large herbivore from the late Cretaceous Period. They had long nasal passage that great huge chamber that connects to the respiratory system. This chamber allows it to create sounds. It has an elaborate crest. The Corythosaurus appeared in "[[D.W. Tricks the Tooth Fairy]]".

==Alamosaurus==
A large herbivore sauropod, it is a member of the titanosaur family and related to the brachiosaurs. It lived in the western part of North America at the end of the late Cretaceous period. It was one of the largest dinosaurs to ever exist. They made an appearance in "[[The Perfect Brother]]" and "[[Buster's Dino Dilemma]]".

==Quetzalcoatlus==
A flying reptile that lived during the late Cretaceous in North America. They have a diet of small animals, hunting them on land and picking them up with their beaks similar to a stork. Quetzalcoatlus are not dinosaurs but flying reptiles called pterosaurs. It had the largest wing span, and was covered in fur-like structures called pycnofibres. It was the pet [[Buster Baxter]] wanted in "[[Francine and the Feline]]" (although it's referred to as a "pterodactyl" and it looks more like in outdated depictions).

==Stegosaurus==

Stegosaurus is an armored dinosaur with large plated and a spike tail. It is plates are designed to cool down the dinosaur and as display. The eat plants and can be seen living in fields with large herds of Camptosaurus. They are considered to be not that intelligent in fact, studies state that it had a good concentration. It will concentrate on one thing before moving on to another. It is famous for fending off large carnivores like Allosaurus. They lived with Apatosaurus in North America during the Late Jurassic period. It appeared as a gum watt model made by [[George]] in [[Desk Wars]].

==Velociraptor==
Velociraptor is a small, meat-eating dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous in Asia. It is well known for the sickle-shaped claw on its foot, which it used as hooks for pinning onto prey or delivering the killing blow. It is now known to have feathers, as evidenced by quill knobs on its arm bones. One famous fossil showed in locked in combat with the ceratopsian Protoceratops. A Velociraptor (erroneously portrayed as resembling a featherless Deinonychus) appeared as a video game character in "[[Jenna's Bedtime Blues]]".
