Jekyll and Hyde

Jekyll and Hyde is a song presented in the episode Arthur's Almost Live Not Real Music Festival based in the book The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. The song is sung by Alan Powers. In Arthur and Friends: The First Almost Real Not Live CD (or Tape) CD, Jekyll and Hyde appears as the track 7.

One day I went to the library, I found this book, it was great! It was so cool, I couldn't put down, Even when it got pretty late! That Night I had a scary dream, I mixed my own secret potion. I added dirt, a bit of sludge, some eyes of flies And a tiny dab of suntan lotion. I started shaking, my legs were quaking, My stomach aching, my brain was breaking!! I started turning green, feeling mean It was like in the story, I was acting strange, quite deranged, It was pure allegory!! Allegory: a history where the characters stand for abstract ideas, for example, good and evil! Cuz I was: [refrain] Jekyll, Jekyll Hyde, Jekyll Hyde, Hyde, Jekyll. Jekyll, Jekyll Hyde, Jekyll Hyde!! Jekyll, Jekyll Hyde, Jekyll Hyde, Hyde, Jekyll. Jekyll, Jekyll Hyde, Jekyll Hyde!! When I awoke, I was me again. I hid the book out of sight. It was so cool what I couldn’t keep away, So I took it out again that night. And then I dreamed what we had a test in school. I got to say it was weird. We had to give the answers in semaphore, And for extra credit, grow a beard.

I couldn’t take, just couldn’t take In one swift motion, I grabbed my potion!!(background laugh) I said mister Hyde has arrived, Tossed my floor. Made a major speech, told to teach This is all a big bore! Ran down all the halls, wrote on walls, Even stole second base! I was super bad, sure was glad, I wasn’t wearing my face. Cuz I was: [refrain] This is too much, I simply had to stop and I threw that potion away!(Potion away!) But I didn’t matter if I drank the stuff, I just kept on changing anyway! (Changing anyway!)(background roar) Now I was: [refrain] Just I was seemed, there was no way out, I saw the book was overdue. Notes

• In Arthur and Friends: The First Almost Real Not Live CD (or Tape), the music is longer (as seen in "Lyrics" section), being sung the refrain more once and one half.
• In this same version, the full music was remixed and some sounds, for example, lightnings, was deleted.

Goofs

• In the first shot, the "Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" book cover is in left side of the book, but in the next shot, the cover is in right side.
• In the first shot of the first of Brain's nightmare, the container used is green, in the next, it is transparent and disappears, later.
• In the shot that is sung "[...] I couldn't take, just couldn't take...", the Brain's flags was white in left side and red in right side, but after this, the colors are inverted.
• In Brain's third nightmare, Hyde has more strands of hair.
• In the part that is sung "[...] The book lady said:...", the Library desk is brown, but in the part sung "[...]I thought...", the desk is miscolored green.
• The Hyde Brain's cape swap from black to green sometimes.
