There was a schoolwide myth that the locker he had (Locker 237) was haunted and caused people misfortune.

==Prunella and the Haunted Locker==

The story says that the locker was haunted and caused him bad luck. For many years his locker was vacant but when [[Prunella Deegan]]'s locker underwent prepares Prunella got his former locker. It also caused Prunella bad luck. First her model of the {{w|Eiffel Tower}} broke, and then Shop Class was closed, and then the model broke again. Prunella then finds out that it was not actually haunted and that there was a different cause.

===Locker Location===

His locker is located at the end of a hallway directly next to the school cafeteria, which explains the strange smells coming from it.

===The Real Jack Murphy===

His name was actually Jay Mayberry as seen in a class photo. He went to the school in 1971 and only went for one year and did not return for the next year. It is highly likely that he just transfered schools or moved away.

===Story===

"It was the 1950's, the school had just opened. Little Jack Murphy started his first day at Lakewood by putting his things in his locker. But this was no ordinary locker: it was 237. He noticed strange sounds, and even stranger smells. Then, bad things started to happen to him. He knew that somehow his misfortune was connected to that locker. But no one believed him. Then one day he just... dissapeared."

====Story Summary====

There was weird sounds and smells coming from his locker. On his way home, he narrowly avoided hitting a cat with his bike, which caused him to crash into a bush. While getting up from the bush he got stuck in wet cement and a dog took his lunchbox. He was never seen after that.
