Jack Prelutsky (born Septermber 8, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY) is famous writer of children's poetry.

Since 1967 he has published over 50 poetry collections. In 2006 he became the first Young People's Poet Laureate of the Poetry Foundation.

He guest starred as himself in the episode I'm a Poet in which he was the judge of a poetry contest. He was the first real world celebrity to appear as himself on Arthur. Unlike later guest stars he looked less like his human self and more like a regular character on the show.
