A Giant Spider appears in the opening of "What Scared Sue Ellen?" as one of the common fears that Arthur lists. After Arthur fell from the tall building into a chasm, the spider caught him mid-air and lifted him to safety. He screamed and ran away from the spider, but it simply scratched its head in puzzlement.
