Fern and Muffy start a greeting card business. Muffy paints the covers and Fern writes the poem
s. The cards prove very popular and everyone starts paying for them. When Muffy gives Fern 'her share of the profits', Fern gets outraged because she's can't explore other ways of creating poetry. All the work makes Fern lose interest in writing, so she tries to figure out how to get make it interesting again
