The '''Children's BBC''' (stylized as "'''BBC Kids'''") was a Canadian television channel aimed at children and teenagers,<ref>https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2018/2018-318.htm</ref> created in a joint venture between Knowledge West Communications and BBC Studios who licensed the BBC brand for the channel. The network ran from 2001 to 2018<ref>https://www.knowledge.ca/media-releases/2018/10/02/bbc-kids-channel-closes-canada</ref> and aired shows from American, Canadian and British companies including [[Cookie Jar Entertainment]], who also provided  the rights to broadcast [[Arthur (TV series)|''Arthur'']]. Episodes aired on BBC Kids' after school block "The Spot" from 2006-2011.<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20070314014151/http://www.bbckids.ca/schedule/default.asp</ref> By 2012, Cookie Jar Entertainment's distribution rights to ''Arthur'' expired, meaning the network could no longer be provided episodes.

As is common with most international releases of ''Arthur'' episodes, the "[[A Word from Us Kids]]" segment found in U.S. releases is removed in order to reserve time commercial breaks. Commercial breaks would commonly interrupt the 'b' part (the second story) of the episode. The bumper that usually played after ''Arthur'' episodes in the 2000s in American releases that promoted going to a library and visiting the [[PBS Kids website|''Arthur'' website]] is also omitted in BBC Kids airings.
