===The "Sign Zone"===
The BBC uses British Sign Language (BSL) in its "Sign Zone," a morning program block that includes copies various BBC, CBBC and Cbeebies programing, and is now also perceivable in sign language. BSL is a visual way of communicating that uses gestures, facial expressions, and body language. It is used mainly by people who are deaf or to support those who have a hearing loss. Arthur also is one of the shows transcribed to sign language.

===Widescreen introduction===
In the United Kingdom, television networks including the BBC began introducing widescreen and airing media in the 16:9 format starting as early as 1998. Arthur, however, was produced in 4:3 until 2010. Starting with season 14, Arthur episodes were produced in widescreen and were broadcast in 16:9 in the U.K. The theme song had colors placed on the blank spots for Season 14-15 (to possibly be consistent with the widescreen)
