==Simple Editing==
<p style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial;">This site is a collaborative website which covers every aspect of the [[Arthur|Arthur franchise]]. [[Arthur Read|Arthur]] made his debut in 1976, in the picture book "[[Arthur's Nose]]" by [[Marc Brown]]. As well as being a beloved and a popular book series, the television series debuted on September 2, 1996 on PBS.</p>

<p style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial;">The wiki format allows anyone to create or edit any article so we can all work together to create the site. If you're new to wikis, check out the '''[[Help:Tutorial 1|tutorial]]''', or see [[Help:Contents]]. Alternatively, check out the [[Help:FAQ|FAQ]] to help you get started!</p>

A blank line indicates a paragraph separation.
<p style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial;">The current administrators on this wiki are [[User:Annawantimes|Annawantimes]], [[User:LukePhiladelphia|LukePhiladelphia]], and [[User:THE CJ IS BACK|THE CJ IS BACK]]. Several style changes will be made to the wiki in the upcoming months.</p>

You can link to another page by putting the name or title of that page in double square brackets.
<p style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial;">{{DHeading|Featured Article}}</p>
<nowiki>[[Main Page]]</nowiki> becomes [[Main Page]].

==Simple Formatting==
<p style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial;">Francine Goes to War is the second-half of the 6th episode in Season 5. It first aired on October 9, 2000.</p>

Create headers by putting text in between repeated equal (=) signs.  The more =, the lower level the heading is.
<p style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial;">'''[[Francine Goes to War|Read more&nbsp;&gt;]]'''</p>

Create a bulleted list by starting each item with an asterisk (*)
<p style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial;">'''[[Arthur Wiki:Featured Content Voting|Vote for next month's Featured article&nbsp;&gt;]]'''</p>
* it's ok to make editing mistakes
* you can preview your work before saving it
* even after saving it, you or someone else can edit it again to make it even better

==Formatting for Emphasis==

Put single quote marks around words or phrases for formatting emphasis.
<p style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial; ">{{DHeading|Featured User}} This month's featured user - [[Arthur Wiki:Featured Content Voting|''Nominate a user for this award&nbsp;&gt;'']]</p>

Two single quotes, like <nowiki>''italics''</nowiki> will create ''italics''.
<p style="border-style: initial; border-color: initial; border-style: initial; border-color: initial;">{{DHeading|Season 15 ▬▬ New Episodes}}''[[Arthur (season 15)|Season 15]] Episodes debuted in the US on October 10, 2011. If you know HTML or CSS formatting commands, they can also be used in this wiki.  One useful HTML command is <nowiki><br /></nowiki> which creates a line break.

If you want to show what a command looks like, rather than actually implementing the command, surround it with the '''nowiki''' command.
