Arthur's Number Nightmare is the 1st half of the 3rd episode of Season 13 of Arthur. It first aired on October 14, 2009, along with "Brain Gets Hooked".

Summary

Buster spots a paper with some of the Lakewood students' names on it. He and his friends believe that it's rankings for the top students in school. He investigates what it is and why the principal would do such a thing.

Plot

 Arthur and D.W. are playing Confuse The Goose, when D.W. wins, she does a " numero uno dance."

Then Arthur asks the viewers why everything needs a number. When he walks out the door ,weird voices

start saying things like " The time is 10:15, and Today it is 77 degrees." D.W. walks in and continues her dance. And Arthur groans.

Title Card

Mr. Haney gets a phone call and picks it up. While he is talking, a pile of paper falls of and one sheet flys out the window and lands next to Buster. He takes it home and shows it to Francine and Arthur and says that each person had a number next to their names and claims that it is an alien shopping list and they were ingredients. Arthur says that their probably getting new lockers while francine says that its probably a class ranking. She jokes asking if Buster was at the bottom of the list. But he says he isn't and that she was. She asks to see the sheet and yelped " 24." And says that is wasn't even right because she was at the bottom and Arthur was number 2. He asked her why he wouldn't be at the top and she states that the Brain is number 5 and gets better grades than him.He retorted what she said by saying " No, maybe it's not just based on grades and maybe politeness." Buster said that he was number 11. And that it was basically number 1 with a twin. Frensky says that he was higher on the list and she was politer.

Bitzi wakes up Buster and he looks at the clock and it says 7:11am

Trivia

• The list of names Buster found is most likely the names of several of the unnamed characters seen throughout the series.
• PC bank is a parody of TD bank.

Goofs

• When Buster's mom pours out cereal for Buster, first there are 10 cereal pieces, but in the next scene there are 11.
• When Francine tries to put the brochure, "World Class Ranking Crusies", under the bowl of Mr. Haney's grapes she has Fern's sleeve.
