American Chef Idol is a fictional TV show seen in Muffy's daydream in "What's Cooking?". It features Ming Tsai in the role of Simon Cowell, who criticized Muffy about her quiche. It is a parody of American Idol. As a parody of a FOX cooking show, Tsai's character may also be intended in part as a parody of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who hosts programs such as Hell's Kitchen and Masterchef.
