Alfred Katzenellenbogan is the great-nephew of Jacob Katzenellenbogan.
He came to Lakewood Elementary School to show Hugo a document that proved that his great-uncle owned Elwood City's first saw mill, and not Francis Wheaton, as HUGO had thought. He seems to have neurological issues, as he tries to beat the board. After HUGO explodes, Mr. Ratburn invites Alfred to stay and tell some stories.
