Adil Akyuz is Arthur's 8 year old Turkish pen-pal.

Arthur and Adil have a lot in common. Adil's best friend, Onder, is similar to Buster. They also believe that they both think that they have annoying sisters.. He lives in an apartment and his room has a computer. His father owns a grocery store below his apartment, where Adil works on the weekends.

He has a sister named Ayse Akyuz who is about D.W.'s age. She sent D.W. a Turkish version of Mary Moo Cow (Mary Möö İnek) and D.W. was seen listening to it at the end of "Dear Adil".

In "Is That Kosher?" , Adil makes a cameo appearance, but he has no spoken dialogue, and in that same episode, it is revealed that he and his family are all Muslims. This alludes to the fact that the majority of Turkey's population follows the religion of Islam.

He probably plays soccer, because he has a soccer poster, has cleats under his bed, and has a soccer ball at the end of his bed.

Physical appearance

Unlike Arthur, who is an aardvark, Adil is a bear, like the rest of his family.

Adil is a bear with a brown skin complexion. For casual clothes, he wears a green short-sleeved shirt with purple and white stripes, along with jeans. His school clothes are a dark blue collar shirt and tan-gray trousers.

Voice Actors

In the credits for "The Long Road Home," it was revealed that Aaron Grunfeld was the voice of Adil in that episode. It has not been confirmed as to whether or not he voiced Adil throughout the entire series.
