"Background Blues" is the first half of the 4th episode of season 3 of the animated children's series Arthur. It originally aired on October 12th, 1998.
Plot
Arthur's class is asked to research their ancestors. Muffy and Francine try to one-up each other with who their ancestors were, even after each find nothing interesting. Even though Muffy is eventually caught lying about her ancestors, Francine continues with her lie.
