The Boy Who Cried Comet is the first half of the 5th episode of Season 6. It originally aired on October 22, 2001 along with "Arthur and Los Vecinos." It was later adapted into the book Arthur and the Comet Crisis.
Premise
Buster thinks he's seen a UFO, but no one believes him because he's claimed that too many times before. He borrows Muffy's telescope and finds a comet that appears to be headed for Earth. No one believes him, but this time he has proof.

Trivia
- The name of the episode is based off of the story of 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf', where a boy claims many times that he sees a wolf and when there actually is one, nobody comes to help him.
- The Preschoolers are seen at the playground at Lakewood. They were most likely being used as kindergartners.
Goofs
- Fern would not have felt stepping on a screw since she was wearing shoes.
- D.W., the Tibble Twins, and several preschoolers are seen briefly in the background when Buster climbs up the jungle gym.
