My Music Rules is the first half of the 10th episode of Season 4. It originally aired on November 8, 1999 with That's a Baby Show!

Summary

The Elwood City Library is looking for a musician to perform for the children's show later in the week. D.W. suggests that they find the guy who wrote Crazy Bus, her favorite song, which annoys Arthur. This makes Arthur and Francine look for Josh Redman, Francine's "uncle". After watching a concert with Grandma Thora, D.W. decides to ask cellist Yo Yo Ma to perform at the library's children's show. Arthur and his friends think that it is a horrible idea and think that they may end up fighting each other. To their surprise, Yo Yo Ma and Josh Redman get along, and the episode ends with a jazz rendition of Crazy Bus. The kids find this very good, even Arthur, who considers it a more better version of the song.

Trivia

• We learn that D.W. hates jazz. But if you look closely in Francine and Arthur's vision of Joshua Redman playing "anything", you can see D.W.
• When Ma tells Redman that he picked up the sheet for Crazy Bus, he had the paper. But after D.W. finds out that Ma's music isn't so bad after all, as Ma began the song, the sheet disappears.
• During the credits from the finale of Season 4, Some of the Series intro was replaced with A piece of Crazy Bus played by Redman.
• Yet another instance of Grandma Thora being a bad cook.

• Yo Yo Ma does a good job of singing "Crazy Bus" except for "High as a plane or a baloony"... should be "High as a plane or baloony"
• Even more mindboggling is the fact that we've all aware with the fact that Arthur plays all types of music on the piano, including classical -- but in this episode, here he is saying that he hates classical music, and that only one type of music can be the best. Then again, Arthur already has some experience playing "jazz" variations...Binky appreciated Arthur's jazz stylings (or playing a wrong note) at the recital in #20801 - "Arthur vs. the Piano". Arthur thumped and messed about with a piano much to the delight of the crowd in #21301 - "Arthur the Unfunny". In fact, he proved to be the best thing in the performance!
• More proof that Elwood City is a weird town: In Elwood City, you can attend a classical concert by Yo Yo Ma by standing in a line in your regular clothes, go in with a four-year-old, have her scream and shout, interrupting the whole thing, and then afterwards, you get backstage access, have your four-year-old talk to the star, and get him to appear at your local library for a free gig that weekend? Yeah, ok...
