Herman Merkle is the husband of Ursa Merkle and the father of W.D. Merkle.
Physical Appearance[edit]
Herman is depicted as a bear with a light-tan complexion. He wears a grey coat on top of a light-green shirt, his pants are light grey and he wears grey shoes. His hair is brown with a tint of orange and he has a slight beard.
Personality[edit]
He was nice to the Reads and enjoys fly fishing (he knows how to use a canoe), playing chess, and playing cards. After visiting the Reads' House he offered to let them stay at their mountain house north of Elwood City for the weekend.
