The game plays very similar to that of Persona series. At the start of the game you can pick between a male or female protagonist that you must name. The game is cut into days from 1-150 and each day is broken up into morning, afternoon, evening and nighttime. During the day the protagonist will go to school and do different events to advance the story. There are two main areas to explore, Elwood City and The Game World. In Elwood City you can can talk to people, do side quests and buy healing and support items in shops. In The Game World you can buy weapons, armor and battle enemies to level up. At certain events the Protagonist will be asked what there opinion is on a situation. By making a good decision or making the other person feel good by being nice to them your friends meter will begin to fill up. Once its full you will gain a friend level that can give you special benifits in battle. At night the player can enter The Game World that is broken up into different areas called Levels.

When you enter The Book World it is broken up into different dungeons based on books that the characters have read like a Bionic Bunny comic. In each dungeon you can find treasure boxes and Woogles which are the enemies in this game. Unlike other RPGs you start a battle by going up to an enemy and choose to battle it or not. Battles are turn-based with where each character can attack with their weapon, do a special attack, or use support or healing items. Each character has different type that gives them a edge in battle. For example Arthur is a normal type, Buster is a skill type, Binky is a power type etc. Enimeies have different weaknesses and by attacking them with their weakness you can get a random stat boost for 3 turns. By consistently doing this you can unleash a characters Special Hit move to a lot of damage.
