Art Garfunkel met Paul Simon while in Elementary School. They began making music together and eventually became the folk rock duo [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_%26_Garfunkel Simon & Garfunkel]. They split in 1970, after which Art Garfunkel pursued a solo career.
